Hospital upgrade and bed capacity increase
- The Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center Extension Hospital in the Municipality of Talavera, Province of Nueva Ecija is upgraded to a Level II Hospital and is now known as the Talavera General Hospital (Section 1).
- The Talavera General Hospital’s authorized bed capacity is increased from 50 beds to 100 beds (Section 1).
- The Secretary of the Department of Health must implement the increase in bed capacity within five (5) years from the approval of this Act (Section 1).
Facilities, services, and staffing requirements
- The existing hospital facilities and professional health care services of the Talavera General Hospital are upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increased bed capacity (Section 2).
- The law requires a corresponding increase in the number of medical personnel to match the upgraded capacity (Section 2).
Department of Health implementation and funding
- The Secretary of Health must immediately include the implementation of Republic Act No. 11085 in the Department’s program (Section 3).
- The funding needed for implementation must be included in the annual General Appropriations Act (Section 3).
Repeal of prior bed-capacity law; inconsistency repeal
- Republic Act No. 8527 is repealed for purposes of the bed-capacity increase of the Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center Extension Hospital (Section 4).
- All other laws, decrees, orders, issuances, rules and regulations, and parts thereof that are inconsistent with Republic Act No. 11085 are repealed (Section 4).
Implementing rules and regulation timeline
- Within 60 days after the approval of this Act, the DOH must promulgate the necessary rules and regulations for the effective implementation of Republic Act No. 11085 (Section 5).
