Employee Absorption
- The Provincial Government of Palawan may absorb existing CGPWS employees whose roles are necessary for the sanctuary’s continued operations.
Control and Supervision by Provincial Government
- The Provincial Government of Palawan assumes full control and supervision of all activities, management, and concession awards within Calauit Island.
Ecological Preservation and Park Renaming
- The Provincial Government must coordinate with PCSD and other government agencies to preserve, maintain, and rehabilitate the ecological balance of the sanctuary.
- Protection covers marine resources, endemic, and exotic wildlife species.
- The CGPWS is to be promoted as a recreation and ecotourism destination and shall be renamed Calauit Safari Park.
Role of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD)
- PCSD retains policymaking authority over ecological preservation and maintenance under the Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) for Palawan Act (RA 7611).
- PCSD maintains jurisdiction over wildlife species under the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act (RA 9147).
Integrated Master Development Plan
- The Provincial Government must prepare and submit an integrated master development plan for CGPWS to the Office of the President.
Revenue Allocation
- All revenues generated from the Calauit Safari Park operations accrue to the Provincial Government’s treasury.
- These funds must be used exclusively for management, maintenance, operations, and development of the park.
Promotion and Technical Support
- The Department of Tourism (DOT), Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA), and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will provide ongoing promotional and technical assistance for park development.
Repealing Clause
- Any inconsistent executive issuances, regulations, or parts thereof are repealed or amended to conform with this Order.
Effectivity
- The Executive Order takes effect 15 days after publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
