Executive Order No. 772 transfers the management of the Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary to the Provincial Government of Palawan, allowing for the development of the sanctuary as an ecotourism destination while ensuring the preservation and conservation of its wildlife species.

Executive Order No. 772 transfers the management, administration, and maintenance of the Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary (CGPWS) from the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) to the Provincial Government of Palawan.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) was initially responsible before the operation and management was transferred to PCSD in 1995.

The Calauit Project aims to propagate African animals and Palawan endemic wildlife species, preserve the entire sanctuary including coastal and marine resources, develop Calauit Island as an education and conservation center in Asia, and eventually develop it into a self-sustaining operation.

Yes, the Provincial Government of Palawan may opt to absorb CGPWS employees whose services are necessary for the continuance of CGPWS operations.

The Provincial Government of Palawan has full control and supervision of the administration, management, supervision, including the awarding and regulation of all activities and concessions within Calauit Island.

The Provincial Government must ensure ecological preservation, maintenance, and/or rehabilitation of the CGPWS, including the protection and conservation of marine resources, endemic and exotic wildlife species, in coordination with PCSD and other government agencies.

CGPWS shall henceforth be known as Calauit Safari Park.

PCSD retains its policy-making function in ecological preservation and maintenance of the park and has jurisdiction over wildlife species in Palawan under RA 9147, the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.

The Provincial Government is required to prepare and submit an integrated master development plan to the Office of the President of the Philippines.

All revenues from the park shall accrue to the Provincial Government’s treasury and shall be used solely for the management, maintenance, operation, and development of the Calauit Safari Park and the Calauit Project.

The Department of Tourism (DOT), Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) shall continue to provide promotional support and technical assistance.

It took effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
