Required Documentation Accompanying Importations
- Each importation must be accompanied by a Veterinary Quarantine Clearance or Permit signed by the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture or an authorized representative.
- Compliance with the rules and regulations of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) and the National Meat Inspection Commission (NMIC) is mandatory.
- A Veterinary Health and Meat Inspection Certificate issued by the Secretary of Livestock Agriculture and Fishing, National Service of Animal Health, must also be presented.
- Additional certifications concerning drug, pesticide, hormonal residues, heavy metal contaminants, and other public health hazards must be provided.
Scope and General Provisions
- The importation covers fresh frozen beef and processed beef products exclusively from the accredited plants in Argentina.
- The guidelines were enacted based on a thorough evaluation of slaughtering practices, sanitary measures, and disease conditions in approved plants.
- Orders or regulations inconsistent with these provisions are repealed or modified accordingly.
- The administrative order is effective immediately upon issuance.
