Apprehension and Suspension of License Plates of Recently Registered RHD Vehicles

  • RHD vehicles registered between January and March 1995 are subject to apprehension.
  • Their license plates will be confiscated and registration suspended until the vehicle is converted to LHD.
  • Operation of the vehicle during suspension period is prohibited.
  • Drivers and/or owners found operating such vehicles will face penalties pursuant to Department Order No. 93-693 and Memorandum Circular No. 89-105.

Requirements for Proof of Conversion from RHD to LHD

  • Conversion must be verified through ocular inspection.
  • Presentation of a Certificate of Warranty as required under the Philippine National Standards (PNS) regulations is mandatory.

  • Heads of registering agencies and inspectors who violate these guidelines are subject to summary penalties.
