Legal basis and predecessor resolution
- The resolution revises Board Resolution No. 86, Series of 1986.

- The revision keeps the same overall passing-grade framework while changing the qualifying condition tied to subject ratings.
Policy, purpose, and intent
- The resolution provides a revised qualifying rule for passing the Board Licensure Examination for Pharmacists.
- The resolution is intended to revise the existing passing-grade condition previously set in Res. No. 86, s. 1986.
Substantive rule on passing grade
- To pass the Board Licensure Examination for Pharmacists, an examinee must obtain a general weighted average rating of at least 75%.
- The examinee must have no rating below 50%.
- The “no rating below 50%” requirement applies in ANY SUBJECT.
- The qualifying condition uses 50% as the minimum subject rating threshold.
- The resolution replaces the former “more than one (1) subject” qualifying phrase with a condition tied to ANY SUBJECT.
Effective date and publication requirement
- The amended passing rating applies starting with the JANUARY 2011 Board Licensure Examination for Pharmacists.
- The resolution takes effect after fifteen (15) days following its full and complete publication in the Official Gazette or in any major daily newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.
Dissemination and distribution
- Copies must be furnished to the Board, the Rating Division, and other concerned PRC Offices.
- Copies must be furnished to the UP Law Center.
- Copies must be furnished to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
- Copies must be furnished to institutions of higher learning offering the course of pharmacy for dissemination to all concerned.
