Reconstituted district engineering offices
- The Albay District Engineering Offices, under the supervision of the Department of Public Works and Highways, must be reconstituted into three (3) separate district engineering offices.
- The three offices must be named:
- Albay First District Engineering Office;
- Albay Second District Engineering Office; and
- Albay Third District Engineering Office.
- The reconstitution applies to district engineering offices in the province of Albay.
Geographic coverage and office location
- Albay First District Engineering Office must be located in Tabaco City and must comprise:
- City of Tabaco; and
- municipalities of Tiwi, Malinao, Malilipot, Bacacay, and Sto. Domingo.
- The existing district engineering office located in Legaspi City must be known as the Albay Second District Engineering Office and must comprise:
- City of Legaspi; and
- municipalities of Rapu-Rapu, Manito, Camalig, and Daraga.
- Albay Third District Engineering Office must be located in Polangui and must comprise:
- City of Ligao; and
- municipalities of Guinobatan, Jovellar, Pio Duran, Oas, Polangui, and Libon.
DPWH program and funding requirement
- The Secretary of Public Works and Highways must include in the Department’s program the operationalization of the three (3) district engineering offices.
- Funding for operationalization must be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Amendment to prior law provisions
- Section 4 provides that the relevant provisions of Sections 1 and 2 of Republic Act No. 9220 are modified or amended accordingly.
- The modification must align those provisions with the reconstitution into three (3) regular district engineering offices and their defined geographic coverage and locations.
