Creation and Powers of the Filipino Motion Picture Development Board

    2. Operating the Film Fund to provide financial assistance to film production ventures.
    3. Creating and managing the Board of Standards to formulate a national film rating and classification system subject to presidential approval.
    4. Administering a system of tax incentives linked to film rating.
    5. Establishing a Film Archive to preserve motion pictures of cultural, historical, or aesthetic value.
    6. Creating and supervising necessary administrative units.
    7. Supporting efforts to raise cinematic art and science standards.

Composition and Governance of the Development Board

    • Chairman of the CCP as Chairman.

Affiliation with International Film Foundation, Inc.

  • Affiliated as a non-stock corporation to assist the Development Board.

  • Supporting film production ventures of Filipino citizens through financial participation and related services.

Establishment of Film Center

  • CCP authorized to establish and maintain a Film Center within Cultural Center Complex.
  • Facilitates industry requirements with appropriate buildings and facilities.
  • Funding from savings in general or special appropriations, subject to presidential approval.

Budgetary Appropriations

  • Initial funding of ONE MILLION PESOS (P1,000,000.00) appropriated for Board operations.
  • Annual appropriation of TEN MILLION PESOS (P10,000,000.00) thereafter.
  • Subject to applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
