Privileges of the Philippine Red Cross

  • Exemption from all direct and indirect taxes, including VAT and fees on income and property use.
  • Tax exemption also applies to donor contributions, which are deductible for income and estate tax purposes.
  • Exemption from real property tax on all owned real properties.
  • Allotment from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office of at least one lottery draw yearly to support disaster relief operations, in addition to existing draws for the Blood Program.

Membership

  • Open to all residents of the Philippines regardless of citizenship.
  • Contributors to the Annual Fund Campaign automatically qualify for one-year membership.

Central Body of the Philippine Red Cross

  • The Board of Governors is the central governing body with 30 members.

  • Repeals Republic Act No. 95 and other inconsistent laws, rules, or regulations.

Separability Clause

  • Invalidity of any provision does not affect the remainder of the Act.

Effectivity

  • Act takes effect 15 days after publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two newspapers of general circulation.
