A

Duration and Structure of Boxing Contests

  • No boxing contest shall exceed twenty rounds.
  • Each round shall last no more than three minutes.
  • An interval of one minute must be observed between each round.

Specifications for Boxing Equipment and Venue

  • Boxers are required to wear gloves weighing at least four ounces.
  • The boxing ring or enclosure must be square and measure not less than sixteen feet on each side.
  • The floor of the ring must be covered with canvas or another suitable material.
  • Beneath the canvas, there must be a padding layer at least half an inch thick made of resilient material to minimize injury from falls or knockdowns.
  • The ring must be surrounded on all sides by at least three ropes of adequate strength for protection.

Repeal of Inconsistent Provisions

  • Any acts or parts of previous legislation inconsistent with this Act are repealed.

Effectivity of the Act

  • The Act takes effect in accordance with section eleven of the Revised Administrative Code, indicating the implementation follows existing administrative procedures.
