Purpose and creation of Labason
- The order organizes barrios of Labason and La Libertad from the municipality of Sindangan into an independent municipality.
- The new municipality is named Labason.
- The municipality of Labason is established with its seat of government in the barrio of Labason.
- The order increases the municipalities in the Province of Zamboanga to ten by the segregation from Sindangan.
- The creation is implemented through the organizational mandate of Section 68 of the Revised Administrative Code.
Territory and boundaries of Labason
- The territory of Labason is defined by geographic boundaries referencing surrounding municipalities and specific separations.
- On the east, Labason is bounded by the territory of Sindangan, separated by the entire course of the Patawag River.
- The boundary separation eastward is shown in the map of Sindangan prepared on July 19, 1947, by the Instrument-Surveyman and submitted to and approved by the district engineer of Zamboanga.
- On the south, Labason is bounded by the municipality of Kabasalan, separated by the present Sindangan–Kabasalan boundary.
- On the southwest, Labason is bounded by the municipality of Siocon, separated by the present boundary line between Sindangan and Siocon.
Territory retained by Sindangan
- The territory of the municipality of Sindangan after segregation consists of its present territory minus the territory comprised in the municipality of Labason.
- The reduction is effected by the segregation of the barrios of Labason and La Libertad.
Effective date
- The organization of the municipality of Labason takes effect on January 1, 1948.
