Creation of Buenavista municipality
- Executive Order No. 65 increases the five municipalities of the Province of Agusan to six by separating the barrio of Buenavista from the present municipality of Butuan.
- Executive Order No. 65 includes “together with the sitios belonging to the said barrio” in the separation from Butuan.
- Executive Order No. 65 organizes the separated area into an independent municipality named Buenavista.
- Executive Order No. 65 establishes the seat of government in the barrio of Buenavista.
- The organization is carried out by reconstituting municipal territorial boundaries between Butuan and the new Buenavista.
Territorial composition and boundary effect
- Executive Order No. 65 defines Butuan’s territory as its present territory less the territory comprised in the barrio of Buenavista, together with the sitios belonging to the said barrio.

When the change takes effect
- Executive Order No. 65 provides that the municipal organization takes effect on January first, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven (January 1, 1937).
- The effectivity date is fixed as a transitory implementation rule tied to the calendar beginning of nineteen hundred and thirty-seven.
