To organize the barrio of Buenavista (and its sitios) from the municipality of Butuan, Agusan into an independent municipality named “Buenavista,” with the seat of government in the barrio of Buenavista.

The recommendation of Hon. Apolonio D. Curato (Assemblyman for Agusan) and the recommendation/approval process involving the Secretary of the Interior, leading to the separation and organization of the barrio into an independent municipality.

Before: five municipalities. After: increased to six by separating the barrio of Buenavista and organizing it into an independent municipality.
It both creates a new municipality and modifies the territory of the existing municipality of Butuan by subtracting the Buenavista barrio and its sitios from Butuan.
It identifies where the municipal government will be located, which affects administration, governance, and public service delivery within the new municipality.
It was signed by President Manuel L. Quezon and countersigned by Elpidio Quirino, Secretary of the Interior.
Issued on November 19, 1936, described as the nineteenth day of November, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-six.
