Seafarer document processing flow

  • Beginning 29 October 2013, seafarers with priority numbers for the day must proceed to the 7th Floor.
  • At the 7th Floor, seafarers are received, and their documents are screened and evaluated by the concerned evaluators.
  • After evaluation at the 7th Floor, each seafarer must have a photo taken at the designated photo booth located in the same room/level.
  • MARINA provides the seafarer with the requisite uniform appropriate to his rank or position for the photo-taking step.

Maritime Training Institutions and Manning Agencies

  • Acceptance of applications from Maritime Training Institutions (MTIs) is conducted at the 6th Floor.
  • Regular batch applications for revalidation from Manning Agencies are also conducted at the 6th Floor.
  • Seafarer processing for reception, screening, and evaluation occurs on the 7th Floor, while MTI and batch revalidation applications occur on the 6th Floor.

Payment and certificate releasing locations

  • Payment for certificates is handled at the 6th Floor.
  • Releasing of Certificates is also done at the 6th Floor.
  • The advisory separates earlier processing (7th Floor evaluation and photo booth) from payment and releasing (6th Floor).

Implementation instruction

  • All covered parties must comply with the new procedures starting 29 October 2013.
