Recognition and Development of Nursing Specialties

  • The Board of Nursing, in coordination with accredited organizations and the Department of Health, must develop comprehensive nursing specialty programs.

  • Beneficiaries of these programs are required to serve in Philippine hospitals for at least two continuous years.

Funding and Financial Provisions for Training

  • Annual financial resources to train at least 10% of nursing staff in participating government hospitals will come from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
  • Funds are equally shared and released to the Department of Health subject to accounting and auditing.
  • The Department of Health sets the criteria for the availment of the training.

Adoption and Implementation of the Policy Framework

  • The Board formally adopts the Policy Framework annexed to the resolution.
  • Any inconsistent prior policies are amended, modified, or repealed.
  • The resolution takes effect 15 days after publication in the Official Gazette or a national newspaper.
  • Dissemination and implementation responsibilities are assigned to all concerned agencies and organizations.

  • The Board and involved agencies must ensure proper implementation and monitoring.
