Authority and Effectivity of the Order

- The lift of the temporary ban on the importation of meat and meat products derived from cattle from Spain is effective immediately upon publication.
Conditions for Importation of Spanish Beef and Meat Products
- Only boneless and bone-in beef free from any nerves and other specified risk materials (SRMs) related to BSE are permitted for import.
- The beef must originate from healthy, ambulatory cattle; the importation of meat from downer cattle is prohibited.
- Packaging labels must include the slaughter date of the cattle or the production date of the beef product.
Enforcement and Compliance Measures
- The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain must certify adherence to these conditions.
