Upgrading Health Care Services and Facilities
- Existing professional health care services and facilities to be upgraded to match the increased bed capacity.
- Upgrades to ensure quality and adequate service corresponding to the expanded capacity.
Increase of Workforce
- Corresponding increase in workforce including doctors, nurses, and support personnel.
- The increase must be proportional to the expanded bed capacity to maintain service standards.
Creation of Additional Positions
- The Secretary of the DOH to determine additional positions after consulting the Chief of Hospital.
- Coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management and the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission required.
- Additional positions to support the expanded operations of the DRMC.
Funding and Implementation
- Secretary of DOH mandated to include the implementation of this Act in the DOH program.
- Funding for the increase in bed capacity and related expansions to be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Modification of Inconsistent Laws
- Any laws, executive orders, issuances, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Act are modified accordingly.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation.
Signatory and Legislative Process
- Passed by the House of Representatives on September 14, 2021, and the Senate on May 31, 2022.
- Signed into law by the President on June 29, 2022.
