The main purpose of Republic Act No. 11879 is to increase the bed capacity of the Davao Regional Medical Center in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, from six hundred (600) to one thousand (1000) beds and to appropriate funds for this expansion.
The Davao Regional Medical Center is located in the City of Tagum, Province of Davao del Norte.
The Chief of Hospital of the Davao Regional Medical Center is responsible for preparing the hospital development plan.
The hospital development plan must be submitted to the Department of Health (DOH).
The existing professional healthcare services and facilities must be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increased bed capacity.
The existing workforce, including doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly with the bed capacity increase.
The Secretary of the Department of Health, after consultation with the Chief of Hospital and in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management and the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission, determines the additional new positions to be created.
The funding for the implementation of this Act shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act and the DOH shall immediately include it in its program.
This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
All laws, executive orders, issuances, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Act are modified accordingly.
