Hospital bed capacity increase
- Section 1 increases the authorized bed capacity of the Balindong District Hospital in Wato-Balindong, Lanao del Sur from ten (10) to fifty (50) beds.
- Section 1 requires any future increase in bed capacity to be consistent with the hospital development plan prepared by the Chief of Hospital of the Balindong District Hospital.
- Section 1 requires the hospital development plan to be submitted by the Chief of Hospital to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and the Ministry of Health.
Upgrading of services and facilities
- Section 2 requires the existing professional health care services and facilities of the Balindong District Hospital to be upgraded.
- Section 2 mandates that the upgrades must conform to and be commensurate to the bed capacity increase under Section 1.
Workforce expansion requirement
- Section 3 requires the existing workforce of the Balindong District Hospital, including doctors, nurses, and support personnel, to be increased correspondingly.
- Section 3 ties the increase in workforce to the increase in bed capacity and related capacity expansion.
Funding and appropriation responsibilities
- Section 4 directs the Bangsamoro Autonomous Government to provide necessary funds for the maintenance and other operating expenses of the Balindong District Hospital.
- Section 4 requires the Bangsamoro Autonomous Government to appropriate funds for the additional human resource complement to support:
- the increase in bed capacity, and
- the corresponding upgrading of service facilities and professional health care services.
- Section 5 requires the Secretary of the DOH to include in the Department’s subsidy program support for the capital outlay requirements of the Balindong District Hospital.
Consistency with other issuances
- Section 6 provides that all laws, executive orders, issuances, rules and regulations inconsistent with Republic Act No. 11884 are modified accordingly.

- Republic Act No. 11884 originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House on September 27, 2021, and was passed by the Senate on May 31, 2022.
