Applicability of the New Allowances

The increased MAW and food allowance apply to all employment contracts signed on or after October 1, 2013.

Transitional Provisions for Existing Contracts

Contracts with the existing MAW of HK$3,920 and food allowance of HK$875 remain valid if signed on or before October 1, 2013.
These contracts must be processed by the Philippine Consulate on or before October 28, 2013, to be accepted under the old allowance rates.
