No, contracts signed on or before October 1, 2013 can still use the existing MAW of HK$3,920 and food allowance of HK$875, provided they are processed by the Philippine Consulate on or before October 28, 2013.

The Philippine Consulate must process contracts with the old rates by October 28, 2013, to accept the previous minimum wage and food allowance.

It ensures Filipino domestic helpers receive a minimum monthly wage of HK$4,010, representing a HK$90 increase, thus improving their compensation and welfare.

The advisory was signed by Amuerfina R. Reyes, Deputy Administrator for Management and Officer-in-Charge of POEA.

The advisory guides recruitment agencies and Filipino workers on compliance with updated wage standards for FDH contracts in Hong Kong to protect workers' rights and prevent illegal contract terms.

POEA regulates and monitors overseas employment, ensuring contracts comply with host country and Philippine laws for the protection of OFWs, including those working as FDHs in Hong Kong.
