Scope and covered recruitment types

  • The guidelines cover the registration of Jordanian principal/employers for placement of household workers.
  • The guidelines cover the registration of Jordanian principals/employers for other worker categories.
  • The guidelines cover documentation of workers for OFWs bound for Jordan.
  • The guidelines apply to household workers and to other worker categories (including semi-skilled/skilled/professional workers) through the POEA name hire facility.

Registration of household worker principals

  • Only recruitment agencies/entities licensed by the Jordan Ministry of Labor qualify to be registered as principal/employer of household workers.
  • For the initial registration of household worker principals, the following must be submitted:
    • A Special Power of Attorney, duly verified by the POLO in Jordan.
    • A Manpower Request indicating the position, salary and number of workers required, duly verified by the POLO.
    • A License to operate as recruitment/placement agency in Jordan.
  • Renewal of accreditation of household worker principals requires submission of a valid SPA.

Registration of other worker principals

  • For other worker categories, the following must be submitted for registration:
    • A Special Power of Attorney.
    • A Manpower Request indicating the position, salary and number of workers required.
    • A Master Employment Contract containing the minimum provisions required under the POEA Rules and other issuances.
    • A valid business/commercial license of principal/employer.
  • Renewal of accreditation of principals of other worker categories requires submission of:
    • A valid SPA,
    • a manpower request, and
    • a valid employment visa or equivalent document.

Worker documentation requirements for Jordan

  • The following documents must be submitted for processing of documents of OFWs bound for Jordan.

Household worker documentation

  • For household workers, the following must be submitted:
    • A Request for Processing (RFP).
    • Workers Information Sheet.
    • An Individual Special Working Contract for Non-Jordanian Domestic Workers prescribed by the Jordanian government and duly verified by the POLO in Jordan.
  • The Individual Special Working Contract must:
    • Provide a minimum salary of USD$200.00 per month.
    • Contain a provision of repatriation of remains.

Other worker category documentation

  • For other worker categories, the following must be submitted:
    • A Request for Processing (RFP).
    • Worker Information Sheet.
  • Requests for processing of household workers and semi-skilled/skilled/professional workers through the POEA name hire facility must be acted upon upon presentation of the documentary requirements for the processing of name hires.

Supersession and repealing clause

  • All previous issuances inconsistent with POEA Memorandum Circular No. 7 are superseded.
