The Philippine Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) issues guidelines for the re-registration of cooperatives to confirm their legal status, with failure to comply resulting in the loss of registration.

Re-Registration Period

  • Begins immediately upon the guideline's effectivity

Documentary Requirements

  1. Photocopy of certificate of registration or confirmation and any amendments
  2. Photocopy of registered articles of cooperation and amendments
  3. Photocopy of registered by-laws and amendments
  4. Original copy of latest audited financial statements (2008)
  5. Payment of Php 200.00 registration fee

Venue for Re-Registration

  • Primary and secondary cooperatives file with the CDA Extension Office where originally registered
  • Tertiary and special cooperatives file at the CDA Central Office
  • If cooperative has transferred office, file at Extension Office with jurisdiction over new principal office

Re-Registration Procedure

For cooperatives with online access:

  • File application via CDA website's COOP RE-REGISTRATION BOX using Cooperative Identification Number (CIN) as username
  • Complete and submit application form online
  • Print checklist of required documents and instructions
  • Submit printed checklist and documents to respective CDA Extension Office

For cooperatives without online access:

  • Seek assistance from affiliated unions, federations, National Electronic Registration Business Action Centers (NERBAC), or CDA Extension Office
  • Assistance officer files online application on behalf
  • Same steps as those with online access follow thereafter

Handling Non-Operating Cooperatives

  • Non-operating cooperatives must undergo status evaluation at the concerned CDA Extension Office immediately

Issuance of New Certificate of Registration

  • Officially designed certificate shall be issued to cooperatives completing re-registration

Cancellation of Certificate of Registration

  • Cooperatives failing to re-register within prescribed period are deemed cancelled
  • Cancellation results in automatic termination of legal existence and vested rights

Information Dissemination

  • CDA Extension Offices shall use tri-media communication to inform cooperatives
  • Cooperative Research Information and Training Division (CRITD) tasked to prepare promotional materials

Effectivity

  • Guidelines effective fifteen (15) days after submission to the Office of the National Administrative Register (ONAR)
