Acceptance of Applications Prior to Circular Approval

  • Applications for commercial radiotelegraph and radiotelephone operator examinations filed by graduates of IETC and the specified Bachelor of Science course with a special order number (SO#) issued by DECS prior to the Circular’s approval are accepted and processed.
  • This provision ensures that those applicants who submitted their applications before the Circular’s enactment are not prejudiced.

Issuance of Radio Operator Certificates

  • Graduates of the specified courses who have successfully passed the NTC licensure examinations will be granted a radio operator certificate.
  • Issuance of the certificate is conditional upon the submission of properly accomplished application forms and payment of the corresponding fees.

Validity and Renewal of Previously Issued Certificates

  • Radio operator certificates previously issued to IETC graduates before this Circular’s approval remain valid.
  • Such certificates may be renewed provided the holder submits the required renewal application forms and pays the corresponding fees.

Restrictions on Acceptable Courses for Future Applications

  • The Commission will no longer accept applications for radio operator examinations from graduates of radio communication courses other than the following:
    a) General Radio Communications Operator Course (GRCO)
    b) Communications Technician Course
    c) Broadcast Technician Course
  • This restriction takes effect from the date of the Circular’s approval and implementation.

Effectivity and Supersession

  • The Circular takes effect immediately upon its approval.
  • It supersedes any prior circulars, instructions, or memoranda, or any part thereof, inconsistent with its provisions.
  • Strict compliance with the guidelines is mandated.
