Establishment of Ospital ng Meycauayan

Section 1 establishes in the City of Meycauayan, Province of Bulacan a tertiary hospital known as the Ospital ng Meycauayan.
Section 1 places the Ospital ng Meycauayan under the direct control and supervision of the city government.
The hospital’s institutional identity and status are fixed as a tertiary hospital (Section 1).

Section 2 requires the City Government of Meycauayan to manage the Ospital ng Meycauayan.
Section 2 requires the City Government to prepare a hospital development plan.
The development plan must be aligned with the Philippine Health Facility Development Plan (Section 2).
The City Government must prepare the plan in consultation with the Department of Health (DOH) (Section 2).
Section 2 mandates that any future increase in bed capacity, health care facilities, service capability, and human resources complement must be based on the hospital development plan.

Section 3 requires the City Government of Meycauayan to provide the necessary funds for the establishment of the Ospital ng Meycauayan.
Section 3 directs the Secretary of the DOH to include the hospital in the Department’s subsidy program.
Section 3 specifies that the DOH subsidy program must provide support for the capital outlay requirements of the hospital.

Section 4 provides that if any provision or part of Republic Act No. 11878 is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected remain in full force and effect.
Section 5 provides that all laws, executive orders, issuances, rules and regulations inconsistent with Republic Act No. 11878 are modified accordingly.

Republic Act No. 11878 was approved on June 29, 2022 by RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, President of the Philippines.
The Act states that it originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House on August 31, 2021, and by the Senate on May 31, 2022.
