Registration Requirements
- Feeds and feed-related products classified under RA 1556 must be registered in accordance with the Livestock and Poultry Feeds Act.
- Products classified as VDAP must be registered following the provisions of RA 3720, also known as the Food, Drugs, Devices, and Cosmetics Act.
Fees and Inspection Charges
- An inspection fee of sixty centavos (P0.60) per metric ton applies to all feeds, feed ingredients, specialty feeds, and special nutrient preparation feeds, whether locally manufactured or imported for trading purposes.
- Feed supplements and additives, whether locally manufactured or imported for trading, are charged an inspection fee of twenty-five centavos (P0.25) per kilo.
- VDAP and feed products intended for own consumption or raw materials used solely for manufacturing purposes are exempt from these inspection fees.
Legal and Regulatory Authority
- The law governs the delineation and classification for registration purposes between RA 1556 and RA 3720, thereby avoiding overlap and confusion in regulatory procedures.
- It ensures clear administrative control by specifying which products are regulated under which act, facilitating compliance and enforcement by relevant authorities.
