Capitals of the New Provinces
- The capital of Zamboanga del Norte is designated as Dipolog.
- The capital of Zamboanga del Sur is designated as Pagadian.
Application of Existing Laws
- All provisions of law currently or hereafter applicable to regularly organized provinces apply to the newly created provinces, unless otherwise specified.
Governance and Salaries in Zamboanga del Norte
- Elective provincial officials of the former Province of Zamboanga who were elected in the last general local elections will continue governing Zamboanga del Norte until successors are elected and qualified in the next general election.
- The provincial governor, treasurer, and fiscal of Zamboanga del Norte shall maintain their current salaries until a lawful readjustment occurs.
- Salary adjustments must ensure all personnel in both provinces receive no less than the minimum salary mandated by the Minimum Wage Law.
Appointment of Initial Officials in Zamboanga del Sur
- The President of the Philippines, with the consent of the Commission on Appointments, shall appoint the first provincial governor and members of the provincial board of Zamboanga del Sur.
- These appointees will hold office until their successors are duly elected and qualified in the next general election.
Division of Assets and Liabilities
- Upon approval of the Act, all funds, assets, properties, and obligations of the original Province of Zamboanga shall be equitably divided between Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur.
- This division will be carried out by the President upon recommendation of the Auditor General.
Representation in the Congress
- The cities of Basilan and Zamboanga shall be included in the representative district of Zamboanga del Sur.
- The current representative of the Province of Zamboanga shall serve as the representative for both new provinces and the aforementioned cities until the expiration of his term.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect immediately upon its approval on June 6, 1952.
