Territorial boundaries and area
- The Municipality of Remedios T. Romualdez is bounded starting at point 1 (MBM No. 1) with latitude 9A02a52.18aN and longtitude 125A35a21.36aE, a common boundary of the City of Butuan and the former Municipality of Cabadbaran (now Remedios T. Romualdez).
- The boundary thereafter is described through a sequence of courses (e.g., due west, due north, and specified bearings like N. 24A30'W., N. 69A00'E., S.74A00'E., S.36A30'E., and others) intersecting specific lots, cadastre numbers (e.g., Cad. 121, Cad. Q-38), and corners identified by numbering (e.g., corner 2 up to corner 31).
- The boundary includes a segment following the provincial boundary of Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur to a designated corner, and then following the boundary of the City of Butuan to the final point of the description.
- The territory is described as containing an approximate area of eight thousand one hundred forty seven (8,147) hectares.
Applicability of municipal laws
- Section 3 provides that, except as otherwise provided in Batas Pambansa Blg. 236, all laws applicable to regular municipalities apply to the Municipality of Remedios T. Romualdez.
When the municipality becomes existent
- Section 4 requires that the Municipality of Remedios T. Romualdez becomes existent upon ratification by majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite.
- The plebiscite must be conducted in the affected area of the present Municipality of Cabadbaran.
- The plebiscite must be conducted within a period of one hundred twenty days after approval of this Act.
- After ratification, the President appoints the mayor and other officials in accordance with existing laws.
Plebiscite supervision and funding
- Section 4 assigns the Commission on Elections the duty to conduct and supervise the plebiscite.
- The expenses for the plebiscite are paid out of appropriations provided under the annual General Appropriations Act for the Commission on Elections.
Effectivity and approval date
- Section 5 states that Batas Pambansa Blg. 236 takes effect upon its approval.
- The Act is approved on September 12, 1982.
