Applicability of Laws to Barangay Sta. Lucia
- All existing and future provisions of law applicable to regular barangays shall likewise apply to Barangay Sta. Lucia.
- This clause ensures that Barangay Sta. Lucia enjoys the same legal status and is subject to the same regulations as other barangays.
Initial Governance and Appointment of Officials
- The current elective barangay officials of Barangay Rosario will continue to serve as officials of Barangay Sta. Lucia until the President appoints new officials.
- Presidential appointees will hold office until their successors are elected in the subsequent regular barangay elections and duly qualified.
- The appointive officials serve at the pleasure of the President and may be removed anytime.
- Additional officers and employees necessary for the governance of Barangay Sta. Lucia shall be appointed as provided by existing laws.
Transfer of Assets and Liabilities
- Upon the decree’s effectivity, Barangay Sta. Lucia shall receive its proportionate share of obligations, funds, assets, and other properties from Barangay Rosario.
- The transfer will be executed by the President upon recommendation from the Commission on Audit.
Repeal and Modification of Conflicting Laws
- Any laws, parts of laws, executive orders, or regulations that are inconsistent with this decree are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
Effectivity of the Decree
- This decree takes effect immediately upon issuance.
- It was signed and enacted by the President of the Philippines on June 11, 1978, in the City of Manila.
