Geographical Boundaries of Barangay Paalaman
- Barangay Paalaman includes the area bounded by the eastern part of Barangay Sipsipin, Barangay Bagumbong, Barangay Special District, and Barangay Lubo.
- This demarcation sets the territorial jurisdiction of the new barangay.
Ratification and Appointment of Initial Officials
- Ratification is required through a plebiscite by the majority of votes cast in the affected areas.
- The plebiscite must be conducted within 120 days from the approval of the law.
- Upon ratification, the President of the Philippines appoints the first officials of Barangay Paalaman.
- These appointed officials hold office until successors are elected and qualified in the next regular barangay elections.
Conduct and Funding of the Plebiscite
- The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is responsible for conducting and supervising the plebiscite.
- Expenses for the plebiscite come from the Commission on Elections’ appropriations in the current annual General Appropriations Act for plebiscites.
Effectivity of the Law
- The Act takes effect immediately upon its approval.
