Creation of Barangay Merville in Paranaque

The decree declares that the State’s fundamental aim is to hasten up the pace of socio-economic development throughout the country.
The decree ties program effectiveness to administrative efficiency of local government units.
The decree recognizes the residents’ clamor and the conformity of the elective officials to create the new barangay to achieve closer supervision of execution of local development programs.
The decree states that creation of the barangay will uplift the socio-economic well-being of residents therein.

Section 1 detaches and separates the subdivisions known as Admiral Village and Merville in Barangay La Huerta, Municipality of Parañaque, Metro Manila, to form a new barangay.
Section 1 creates an independent barangay known as Barangay Merville.
Section 1 provides that the creation of Barangay Merville does not affect the legal existence of the mother barangay (Barangay La Huerta).

Section 2 applies all provisions of law applicable to regular barangays to Barangay Merville.

Section 4 requires transfer, upon effectivity, of Barangay Merville’s proportionate share in obligations, funds, assets, and other property of Barangay La Huerta.

Section 5 repeals or modifies all laws or parts of laws, and all executive orders or regulations, that are inconsistent with the decree.
