Geographic coverage and boundaries
- Section 2 provides that Barangay Dalig includes the area bounded by:
- NaAntipolo-Teresa National Roada
- EaMunicipality of Teresa
- Samunicipalities of Teresa and Angono
- Wa Antipolo-Darangan Road
- Section 2 fixes the barangay’s territorial coverage using the named boundary points and reference roads/localities.
Plebiscite requirement for effectivity of creation
- Section 3 requires ratification of the creation by the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite conducted in the affected area.
- Section 3 sets the plebiscite timeline at within one hundred twenty days from the approval of this Act.
- Section 3 makes the barangay’s formation contingent on the required plebiscite ratification.
Conduct of plebiscite and funding
- Section 4 vests authority for the plebiscite in the Commission on Elections, which must conduct and supervise the plebiscite.
- Section 4 charges the expenses of the plebiscite to the appropriations of the Commission on Elections in the current annual General Appropriations Act for plebiscites.
Appointment and tenure of first barangay officials
- Section 3 directs that the President of the Philippines appoint the first officials of Barangay Dalig after plebiscite ratification.
- Section 3 provides that the appointed officials hold office until their successors shall have been elected and qualified in the next regular barangay election.
- Section 3 establishes that appointment occurs after the plebiscite outcome satisfies the majority-vote requirement.
Effectivity of the Act
- Section 5 provides that the Act takes effect upon its approval.
- Batas Pambansa Blg. 788 was approved on April 27, 1984.
- Section 3 uses one hundred twenty days from the approval of this Act to compute the deadline for conducting the plebiscite.
