Policy and purpose
- Republic Act No. 9360 creates another congressional district in the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay, amending the existing legislative district arrangement under Republic Act No. 8973 (Section 1).
Congressional district division in Zamboanga Sibugay
- Section 7 establishes that the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay is divided into two (2) congressional districts (Section 1).
- The present Third District of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur is treated as the basis for the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay and then divided into District I and District II (Section 1).
- District I includes the municipalities: Buug, Diplahan, Malangas, Imelda, Alicia, Mabuhay, Olutanga, Talusan and Payao (Section 1).
- District II includes the municipalities: Siay, Kabasalan, Naga, Ipil Tiotay, R.T. Lim and Tungawan (Section 1).
City legislative districts retained under Republic Act No. 9360
- Section 7 provides that the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay retains two (2) legislative districts consisting of the following cities/municipalities (Section 1).
- Legislative District I consists of: Pagadian City, Labangan, Tukuran, Aurora, Molave, Mahayag, Dumingag, Suminot, Midsalip, Ramon Magsaysay, Tambulig, Josefina (Section 1).
- Legislative District II consists of: Bayog, Lakewood, Kumalarang, Tigbao, Dumalinao, Guipos, San Miguel Lapuyan, Margosatubig, Dinas, San Pablo, Tabina, Dimataling, Vincenzo Sagun, Pitogo (Section 1).
Repeal and modification of inconsistent issuances
- Section 2 repeals or modifies all laws, executive orders, regulations, or parts thereof that are inconsistent with Republic Act No. 9360.
- The repeal is effective only to the extent of inconsistency, with inconsistent provisions being repealed or modified accordingly (Section 2).
