Composition and Leadership of the Committee

  • Chairman to be appointed from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

    • Congress of the Philippines
    • Department of Budget and Management

    • National Nutrition Council

    • Department of Tourism and Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation
    • Presidential Assistant for Social Development

    • Department of Transportation and Communications
    • Department of Public Works and Highways

Representation and Delegation Provisions

  • Department Secretaries and Executive Directors may designate permanent representatives to participate in the Committee’s work in their absence.

Functions and Powers of the Committee

  • Authorized to create a Secretariat and various Sub-Committees to facilitate the organization and management of the meeting.
  • Empowered to seek assistance from all relevant government agencies, non-government organizations, private agencies, and individuals.

Funding and Financial Provisions

  • The Department of Budget and Management is directed to immediately release P3,800,000.00 to fund the Committee’s activities.
  • Funds to cover operating expenses for meetings and be charged against the CY 1993 International Commitments Fund.
  • All expenditures subject to standard accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

Effectivity

  • The Executive Order takes effect immediately upon its signing.
  • Signed by President Fidel V. Ramos and Executive Secretary Edelmiro A. Amante, Sr. on March 18, 1993, in Manila.
