- Chairman to be appointed from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
- Vice-Chairman to be appointed from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
- Members to include representatives from multiple key government agencies:
- Presidential Management Staff
- Office of the Press Secretary
- Congress of the Philippines
- Department of Budget and Management
- Department of Education, Culture and Sports
- Department of Agriculture
- National Nutrition Council
- Department of Health
- Department of Labor and Employment
- Department of Tourism and Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation
- Presidential Assistant for Social Development
- Department of the Interior and Local Government and Philippine National Police
- Department of Transportation and Communications
- Department of Public Works and Highways
Representation and Delegation Provisions
- Department Secretaries and Executive Directors may designate permanent representatives to participate in the Committee’s work in their absence.
Functions and Powers of the Committee
- Authorized to create a Secretariat and various Sub-Committees to facilitate the organization and management of the meeting.
- Empowered to seek assistance from all relevant government agencies, non-government organizations, private agencies, and individuals.
Funding and Financial Provisions
- The Department of Budget and Management is directed to immediately release P3,800,000.00 to fund the Committee’s activities.
- Funds to cover operating expenses for meetings and be charged against the CY 1993 International Commitments Fund.
- All expenditures subject to standard accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
Effectivity
- The Executive Order takes effect immediately upon its signing.
