Geographic boundaries and legal description

  • Dangcagan’s boundaries are defined by a territorial description beginning at the intersection of the Maramag and Pulangi Rivers.
  • The boundary description follows, in sequence, specified directions and reference points, including:
    • Following an imaginary straight line in an easterly direction to intersect the boundaries of Maramag and the municipal district of San Fernando.
    • Following the boundaries of Maramag and the municipal district of San Fernando to the intersection with the province of Cotabato.
    • Proceeding S. 29A 15' W. for four kilometers along the boundary line of the Municipality of Kibawe and the province of Cotabato.
    • Moving westerly along an imaginary straight line to the center of the junction of the present National Highway and the Palma River.
    • Following the center of the Palma River to the junction of the Palma and Muleta Rivers.
    • Following the center of the Muleta River northerly to a point met by the Muleta River and the boundaries of Kibawe and the proposed municipality of Don Carlos.
    • Continuing easterly following the boundary of Kibawe and the proposed municipality of Don Carlos to the center of the Pulangi River.
    • Proceeding northerly following the center of the Pulangui River to the intersection of the Maramag and Pulangi Rivers.
  • The description is linked to a sketch plan or map of Dangcagan approved by the District Engineer of Bukidnon, on file, Scale: 1:200,000.

Existence condition and financial certification

  • The Municipality of Dangcagan begins to exist only upon appointment and qualification of:
    • the mayor
    • the vice-mayor
    • a majority of the councilors
  • Existence is also conditioned on a certification by the Secretary of Finance that Dangcagan is financially capable of:
    • implementing the Minimum Wage Law, and
    • providing for all statutory obligations and ordinary essential services of a regular municipality.
  • The Secretary of Finance must also certify that after segregation, the municipalities of Kibawe and Maramag can:
    • maintain creditably their respective municipal governments,
    • meet all their statutory and contractual obligations, and
    • provide essential municipal services.
