Assignment of Branch Numbers
- The Supreme Court holds the authority to assign the numerical designations to these newly created branches.
Implementation and Funding
- The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Justice, is tasked with integrating the implementation of this Act into the Court’s program.
- Funding for the operation of these new courts shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
- The release of funds is contingent upon the actual organization of the courts and the appointment of their personnel, ensuring no premature allocation of financial resources.
Amendments to Existing Laws
- Section 14(h) of Batas Pambansa Blg. 129 ("The Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980"), as amended, is specifically repealed, modified, or further amended to accommodate the provisions of this Act.
- Other inconsistent provisions in existing laws shall likewise be repealed or amended as necessary to harmonize with this Act.
Effectivity
- The Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
Legislative and Executive Approval
- The Act represents the consolidation of Senate Bill No. 3030 and House Bill No. 6863.
- It was passed by the Senate and House of Representatives on September 17, 2012, and February 6, 2013, respectively.
- Approved by the President of the Philippines on May 15, 2013.
