Conversion and DOH control

The Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center Extension Hospital in the Municipality of Barotac Nuevo, Province of Iloilo is converted into a tertiary hospital (Section 1).
The converted tertiary hospital shall be known as the Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center (Section 1).
The converted hospital shall be under the direct control and supervision of the Department of Health (DOH) (Section 1).

Bed capacity expansion rules

The authorized bed capacity of the Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center is increased from one hundred (100) beds to three hundred (300) beds (Section 2).
Any future increase in bed capacity must be consistent with the hospital development plan prepared by the Chief of Hospital of the Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center (Section 2).
The hospital development plan must be submitted to the DOH (Section 2).

Upgrading services, equipment, and facilities

The existing professional health care services, equipment, and facilities of the hospital must be upgraded (Section 3).
The upgrades must conform to and be commensurate with the increased bed capacity under Section 2 (Section 3).

Workforce increase requirements

The existing workforce of the hospital—including doctors, nurses, and support personnel—must be increased correspondingly (Section 4).

Creation of new positions and filling

The Secretary of the DOH must determine the additional new positions to be created and filled up (Section 5).
The determination must be made after consultation with the Chief of the Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center (Section 5).
The Secretary of the DOH must coordinate with the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management and the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (Section 5).

Implementation and funding in appropriations

The Secretary of the DOH must immediately include the implementation of the Act in the DOH program (Section 6).
The funding for implementation must be included in the annual General Appropriations Act (Section 6).

Repeal of inconsistent laws

Section 7 repeals, amends, or modifies accordingly all laws, decrees, executive orders, and other presidential issuances that are inconsistent with Republic Act No. 11725.
