Transfer of Personnel, Assets, Liabilities, and Records
- All personnel currently working in the extension campus are transferred to the newly independent Mercedes B. Peralta Senior High School.
- All assets, liabilities, and official school records of the extension are likewise transferred and absorbed by the newly created senior high school.
Operationalization and Funding
- The Secretary of Education is mandated to immediately include the operationalization of the Mercedes B. Peralta Senior High School in the Department of Education’s program.
- Initial funding for the independent school shall be charged against the current year's appropriation previously allocated to the extension campus.
- Future funding for the ongoing operation of the school shall be provided through appropriations included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Promulgation of Rules and Regulations
- The Secretary of Education must issue the implementing rules and regulations necessary to enforce the provisions of the law.
- Such rules and regulations must be promulgated within sixty (60) days after the law’s approval.
Effectivity
- The law will take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication either in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
- This ensures public awareness and compliance with the law.
Legislative Process and Approval
- The bill originated in the House of Representatives and passed both the House and Senate in 2021.
- It was approved by the President of the Philippines on March 24, 2022, thus becoming law.
