Conversion of the school to a college
- Section 1 converts the Zamboanga del Sur National Agricultural School in the Municipality of Dumingag, Province of Zamboanga del Sur, into a college.
- Section 1 names the new institution the Zamboanga del Sur Agricultural College.
- The conversion is immediate as a legal effect upon approval because Section 5 makes effectivity contingent only on approval.
- The converted college continues from the existing institution described in Section 1.
Academic offerings and curricular expansion
- Section 2 requires the Zamboanga del Sur Agricultural College to offer collegiate courses in addition to its present curricular offerings.
- Section 2 limits the additional collegiate courses to those authorized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.
Implementation duties of the Ministry
- Section 3 directs the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports to take the necessary steps for the immediate implementation of the Act.
Transfer of appropriations and funding rule
- Section 4 transfers the existing appropriations of the Zamboanga del Sur National Agricultural School to the Zamboanga del Sur Agricultural College.
- Section 4 provides that the transferred appropriations shall be disbursed in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
- Section 4 requires that after the transferred appropriations, the necessary amount for operation and maintenance of the college shall be provided in subsequent General Appropriations Acts.
- Section 4 defers operation as a college until that subsequent General Appropriations Act funding is provided, while stating that the college’s new name takes effect upon approval of the Act.
