Conversion of Leonora S. Salapantan HS to National School

Section 1 converts the Leonora S. Salapantan Municipal High School in San Miguel, Iloilo into a national high school.
Section 1 names the resulting school: Leonora S. Salapantan National High School.
Section 1 recognizes that the municipal high school was formerly San Miguel L. Salapantan Municipal High School.
The law’s conversion is limited to that specific school identified in Section 1.

Section 2 sets an initial operating amount of PHP 100,000 for the school.
Section 2 directs that the PHP 100,000 shall be funded out of appropriations authorized by Batas Pambansa Blg. 230 for the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports intended for new national high schools.
Section 2 requires an additional amount equal to 50% of the school’s share in the budgetary aid actually paid to it before the conversion.
Section 2 mandates release of the funding from the national assistance fund to local schools for the school’s operation after the conversion.
Section 2 provides that, thereafter, the amount necessary for the school’s operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 3 provides that the Act’s effectivity is immediate upon its approval.
