Labeling Requirements and Submission
- All milk companies are required to submit their new product labels to the Product Services Division (PSD) of the Department of Health (DOH).
- The deadline for submission was set on or before January 15, 2008, with no extensions allowed.
- New labels must incorporate the necessary warnings as specified in Rule VII of the RIRR.
Prohibition of Old Labels
- Starting March 2008, the use of old labels that do not comply with the prescribed warnings and requirements is prohibited.
- Only new, compliant labels shall be permitted in the market from that date onwards.
Enforcement and Sanctions
- Labels that do not comply with the mandatory provisions shall not be allowed for use.
- Violations shall be subject to legal and administrative sanctions.
- Sanctions may include the recall of violative products and suspension or revocation of the Certificate of Product Registration (CPR).
Authority and Guidance
- This directive was issued by the Secretary of Health, Francisco T. Duque III, M.D., M.Sc., and aims for the strict implementation of EO 51 and its RIRR.
- All concerned entities are enjoined to observe strict compliance to ensure the proper execution of the Milk Code and its implementing rules.
