Increase in Bed Capacity
- The hospital's bed capacity is increased from 250 to 800 beds.
- Any future increases in bed capacity must be consistent with a hospital development plan.
- The Department of Health (DOH) is responsible for preparing the hospital development plan.
Upgrade of Health Care Services and Facilities
- Existing professional health care services and facilities at BRHMC are upgraded.
- Upgrades are to be commensurate with the increased bed capacity.
Expansion of Workforce
- The hospital workforce, including doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly.
- The Secretary of the DOH, after consulting with the Chief of BRHMC and coordinating with the Secretaries of the Department of Budget and Management and the Civil Service Commission, determines additional new positions to be created and filled.
Appropriations and Implementation
- The Secretary of the DOH shall include the implementation of this act in the department’s programs.
- Funding for the hospital’s conversion and upgrades shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Severability Clause
- If any provision of the act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Repealing Clause
- All laws, executive orders, issuances, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Act are modified accordingly to conform with this law.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect 15 days after its publication either in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation.
