Amending Executive Order No. 380 on Industry Council

Executive Order No. 480 is issued pursuant to the President’s powers vested by law.
The order amends Executive Order No. 380 which created the Industry Development Council.
Fidel V. Ramos, as President of the Republic of the Philippines, is the issuing authority.
Alexander P. Aguirre serves as Executive Secretary by presidential action.

The Industry Development Council was created on 2 December 1996 under Executive Order No. 380 as a coordinating mechanism for government and private-sector efforts to enhance local industry growth.
Membership representation in the Industry Development Council is broadened to strengthen the council’s capabilities in addressing local industry development concerns.
The inclusion of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources is intended to bring a sustainable development perspective to competitiveness promotion and facilitate resolution of environment-related concerns.

Section 1 of Executive Order No. 480 amends Section 2 of Executive Order No. 380 on the council’s composition.
The council remains composed of the Secretary of Trade and Industry as Chairman and includes specified government officials as members.
The council includes the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources as a Member.

Section 2 (as amended) establishes that the council composition includes:
- Secretary of Trade and Industry (Chairman).
- Presidents of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. and Federation of Philippine Industries, Inc. (Vice-Chairmen).
- Secretary of Finance (Member).
- Secretary of Agriculture (Member).
- Secretary of Foreign Affairs (Member).
- Secretary of Science and Technology (Member).
- Secretary of Labor and Employment (Member).
- Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority (Member).
- Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Member).
- Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources (Member).
- Seven (7) Representatives of the Private Sector (Members).
