Purpose for amending membership representation
- The Industry Development Council was created on 2 December 1996 under Executive Order No. 380 as a coordinating mechanism for government and private-sector efforts to enhance local industry growth.
- Membership representation in the Industry Development Council is broadened to strengthen the council’s capabilities in addressing local industry development concerns.
- The inclusion of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources is intended to bring a sustainable development perspective to competitiveness promotion and facilitate resolution of environment-related concerns.
