Amendment of Baguio City Officials' Salaries

Section 1 amends Sections 2545-A and 2561 of the Revised Administrative Code, as amended.
Section 1 replaces the salary schedule language for City officials under SEC. 2545-A.
Section 1 replaces the salary schedule and structure for assistant city attorneys under SEC. 2561.

Republic Act No. 3815 establishes a new salary schedule for designated Baguio City officials.
The salary changes in Section 1 are implemented through amended provisions of the Revised Administrative Code, as amended.
Section 2 provides additional benefits (free limited city services) to certain city officials alongside the salary increases.

SEC. 2545-A provides that officials of the City of Baguio shall receive salaries payable from the funds of the city.
SEC. 2545-A(a) sets the Mayor salary at fourteen thousand pesos per annum.
SEC. 2545-A(b) sets the Vice-mayor salary at twelve thousand pesos per annum.
SEC. 2545-A(c) sets Members of the city council at seven thousand two hundred pesos each per annum.
SEC. 2545-A(d) sets Judges of the municipal court at twelve thousand pesos each per annum.
SEC. 2545-A(e) sets City treasurer, city engineer, city attorney, city health officer, city auditor, and chief of police at twelve thousand pesos each per annum.
SEC. 2545-A(f) sets City assessor and superintendent of public utilities at twelve thousand pesos each per annum.
SEC. 2545-A(g) sets Assistant city engineer, assistant city treasurer, the clerk of court of the municipal court, secretary of the mayor, the city secretary, assistant city health officer, assistant city auditor, assistant chief of police and the assistant city assessor at eight thousand four hundred pesos each per annum.

SEC. 2561 provides for three assistant city attorneys who assist the city attorney as the city attorney directs.
SEC. 2561(a) sets the First assistant compensation at nine thousand pesos per annum.
SEC. 2561(b) sets the Second assistant compensation at seven thousand two hundred pesos per annum.
SEC. 2561(c) sets the Third assistant compensation at five thousand four hundred pesos per annum.

Section 2 grants the city officials concerned the entitlement to free limited city services.
Section 2 provides that the free limited city services are governed by a city ordinance regulating the use of free city services to city employees.
The entitlement in Section 2 applies in addition to the compensation rates established in Republic Act No. 3815.

Section 3 requires that all incumbent heads and assistant heads of offices and other officials mentioned in Republic Act No. 3815 who occupy affected positions continue to occupy their respective positions.
Section 3 provides that these incumbent officials shall receive the salary increases provided by Republic Act No. 3815.
Section 3 eliminates the need for any new appointment for the continued occupation of positions and receipt of the salary increases.
