Election, Qualifications, and Compensation of the Vice-Mayor

  • There shall be a Vice-Mayor elected in the same manner and with the same qualifications as the Mayor.

  • The Vice-Mayor acts as Mayor during sickness, absence, or incapacity of the Mayor, entitled to Mayor's salary and allowances during such period.

    • Investigating unexplained sudden deaths suspected to be unlawful; may order autopsies and request aid from health officers.
    • Rendering professional services as required by the Mayor or Board.
    • Performing duties prescribed by law for the register of deeds.

Compensation of the City Attorney and Assistants

  • Salary limits are as follows:
    • City Attorney: up to six thousand pesos per annum.
    • First Assistant City Attorney: up to five thousand four hundred pesos per annum.
    • Second Assistant City Attorney: up to four thousand eight hundred pesos per annum.
    • Two Third Assistant City Attorneys: up to three thousand six hundred pesos each per annum.

Salary of the Municipal Judge

  • The municipal judge's salary is set at seven thousand eight hundred pesos per annum.

Clerk of the Municipal Court: Appointment, Duties, and Compensation

  • Appointed by the Mayor under Civil Service Law and applicable rules.
