Core requirements for registration and service
- Section 1 requires young men to register for training and service in the Armed Forces of the Philippines components and separate units in the calendar year they will attain twenty years of age.
- The registration obligation covers service in the Philippine Army, Philippine Constabulary, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, and separate Armed Forces of the Philippines units.

- Section 3 mandates that the words “military instruction”, “trainee instruction”, “military training”, “military trainee instruction”, “training”, “instruction”, “training instruction”, and “military service” in the National Defense Act, as amended, are to be understood as “training service”, unless the context provides otherwise.
Implementation and regulation-making authority
- Section 1 specifies training timing and assignment aftermath: training is for at least six months, and assignment to the Regular Force follows after training.
