Implemented amendments to city charter
- Section 1 amends Sections 2545-A, 2551, and 2561 of the Revised Administrative Code.
- Section 1 establishes a new salary schedule for specified officials of the City of Baguio, payable from city funds.
- Section 1 governs the vice-mayor’s authority during the mayor’s absence or disability.
- Section 1 increases the number of assistant city attorneys to three and sets their compensation.
Salary schedule for Baguio officials
- Section 2545-A provides that city officials receive salaries payable from the funds of the city.
- The Mayor receives PHP 9,000 per annum.
- The Vice-mayor receives PHP 7,200 per annum.
- The Members of the city council receive PHP 4,800 each per annum.
- The Judge of the municipal court receives PHP 7,800 per annum.
- The following officials each receive PHP 7,200 per annum: City treasurer, City engineer, City attorney, City health officer, City auditor, and Chief of police.
- The following officials each receive PHP 6,600 per annum: City assessor and Superintendent of public utilities.
- The Assistant city engineer and the Assistant city treasurer each receive PHP 6,000 per annum.
Vice-mayor powers during absence/disability
- Section 2551 provides that the vice-mayor shall be a member of the city council.
- During the absence of the mayor from the city or the mayor’s disability for any reason, the vice-mayor must discharge the duties of the office and exercise all powers of the mayor.
- The vice-mayor’s exercise of mayoral powers excludes removing any officer from office.
Assistant city attorneys increased
- Section 2561 provides for three assistant city attorneys who shall assist the city attorney as directed.
- The assistant city attorneys’ compensation is set as follows:
- First assistant: PHP 6,000 per annum.
- Second assistant: PHP 5,100 per annum.
- Third assistant: PHP 3,720 per annum.
Repeal of prior inconsistent provisions
- Section 2 repeals Section 2561-A of the Revised Administrative Code and all laws or parts thereof inconsistent with Republic Act No. 1819.
