  • Section 2551 provides that the vice-mayor shall be a member of the city council.
  • During the absence of the mayor from the city or the mayor’s disability for any reason, the vice-mayor must discharge the duties of the office and exercise all powers of the mayor.
  • The vice-mayor’s exercise of mayoral powers excludes removing any officer from office.

Assistant city attorneys increased

  • Section 2561 provides for three assistant city attorneys who shall assist the city attorney as directed.
  • The assistant city attorneys’ compensation is set as follows:

Repeal of prior inconsistent provisions
