Assignment of Branch Numbers
- The Supreme Court holds the authority to assign specific branch numbers to these newly created RTC branches.
Implementation and Funding
- The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, coordinated with the Secretary of the Department of Justice, is responsible for including the implementation of this Act in the Judiciary's program.
- Funding for the new courts is incorporated in the annual General Appropriations Act.
- Funds for court operations will only be appropriated and released upon the formal organization of the courts and the appointment of their personnel.
Amendments to Existing Law
- Section 14(j) of Batas Pambansa Blg. 129, also known as the Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980, is amended to accommodate the creation of these new RTC branches.
- Other provisions inconsistent with this Act are repealed, modified, or further amended accordingly.
Effectivity Clause
- The Act takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in two newspapers of general circulation.
Legislative Process and Approval
- The Act is a consolidation of Senate Bill No. 3027 and House Bill No. 6858.
- It was approved by the Senate and House of Representatives on October 15, 2012, and February 6, 2013, respectively.
- The President of the Philippines approved the Act on May 24, 2013.
