Operationalization and Funding
- The Chief Justice, in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Justice, shall include the operationalization of this additional RTC branch in the Court’s program immediately.
- Funding for the RTC branch will be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
- Appropriation and release of funds are conditional upon the actual organization of the court and the appointment of its personnel.
Amendment of Existing Laws
- Section 14(k) of Batas Pambansa Blg. 129, also known as the Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980, is amended to reflect the creation of the new RTC branch.
- Any other existing laws, rules, or regulations inconsistent with this Act are amended, repealed, or modified accordingly.
Effectivity of the Act
- The Act takes effect fifteen (15) days after its complete publication.
- Publication must be made either in the Official Gazette or in two newspapers of general circulation.
Relevant Authorities and Legislative Process
- The creation of this branch was approved by the Senate and House of Representatives on November 5, 2012, and December 4, 2012, respectively.
- The Act was signed into law by the President of the Philippines on January 23, 2013, following proper legislative procedures.
- Official signatories include the President of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Secretaries of the Senate and House, and the President of the Philippines.
