Amending RA 10604: Iloilo State University

Section 1 amends Section 1 of Republic Act No. 10604 to convert the Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) in the Municipality of Barotac Nuevo, Province of Iloilo, into a state university.
The converted state university is to be known as the “Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology” and is referred to as the University (Section 1).
The conversion integrates the ISCOF’s campuses, namely:
- San Enrique Polytechnic College in the Municipality of San Enrique;
- Dingle Agricultural and Technological College in the Municipality of Dingle; and
- Dumangas Polytechnic College in the Municipality of Dumangas (Section 1).
The Act sets the main campus of the University in Barangay Ilaya Poblacion, Municipality of Barotac Nuevo, Province of Iloilo (Section 1).
The Act integrates the Barotac Nuevo Polytechnic Institute in the Municipality of Barotac Nuevo into the University (Section 1).

Section 2 amends Section 24 of Republic Act No. 10604 by setting a compliance mechanism tied to CHED requirements.
The institution retains its status prior to the effectivity of Republic Act No. 11012 until it is able to comply with the CHED requirements provided in Republic Act No. 10604 (Section 24 as amended by Section 2).
The retention statement appears within the amended Section 24(a) structure (Section 2).

Section 3 provides that all laws, executive orders, decrees, instructions, rules, and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with Republic Act No. 11012 are amended, repealed, or modified accordingly.
